Her current research focuses on the need to enact ex anteregulation of digital markets in Latin America and on its appropriate scope, by assessing the EU's experience with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) as a complement to competition enforcement. During her stay in Amsterdam, she is working on a paper that examines the European Commission's enforcement of the DMA against designated gatekeepers. She analyses the Commission's specifications and non-compliance decisions issued since 2024 under the DMA, as well as the limitations on its margin of discretion. In particular, she is assessing the impact of these decisions on the gatekeepers' business models.
Daniela holds a Chilean law degree (Universidad de Chile), an LL.M. in Competition Law from University College London (UCL), and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) in economic policy from the London School of Economics (LSE).
