Anniek de Ruijter

Half  the world's population is female, however, also in the Netherlands we do not see this reflected in influential positions. Whether it concerns the parliament or the boards of big companies, in terms of representation of women (and people of color) it is structurally disproportionate. Is it time for a women's quota? How does this relate to the rule of law? Is a women's quota not discriminatory for men? Jelle Klaas and Nienke Venema discuss these and more questions with Anniek de Ruijter, chairwoman of the Clara Wichmann Proefprocessenfonds and assistant professor of European Law at the University of Amsterdam.
