Sophie Dura is a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG). Her research is about the European Pillar of Social Rights. The supervisors of her PhD thesis are Prof. Annette Schrauwen (Professor of European Intergration at the Faculty of Law) and Prof. Jonathan Zeitlin (Professor of Public Policy and Governance at the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Science).

Before joining the UvA in September 2018, Sophie Dura worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Chair for Public and Constitutional Law, Prof. Christopher Enders, University of Leipzig. She holds a LL.M in European Union Law of the University of Amsterdam (2017) and passed First State Examination in Germany (2016)
