The Regional Finals of the European Law Moot Court (ELMC) competition will take place on 1 and 2 February 2019 at the University of Ljubljana. The ELMC is the largest and most prestigious international competition on aspects of general EU law. The UvA team consists of Adam Klamo (Slovakia), Agata Poznanska (Poland), Kristiaan Koop (Netherlands) and Margot Gillmann (France).
This year’s European Law Moot Court case (pdf) touches upon some of the most urgent and complex issues of EU law, including the protection of the rule of law, fundamental rights in cross-border criminal proceedings and the constitutional identity of EU Member States. The UvA team were selected for the regional ELMC final based on their written briefs in representation of the Public Prosecutor’s Offices of the fictional EU member states of Illiberania and Freedonia.
The ELMC is the largest and most prestigious international competition on aspects of general EU law. It brings together teams of university students from all across Europe and beyond to compete and argue their case before EU law scholars, lawyers and judges.
We wish the UvA successful proceedings in Ljubljana!
