ACELG researcher awarded grant of EUR 250,000 for project on EU administrative law

For the second year in a row, an ACELG researcher was awarded a research grant in the VENI grant scheme of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), designed for researchers with a maximum of three years after having completed their doctorates.

Joana Mendes was awarded the grant amounting to EUR 250,000 for her research proposal on 'Unveiling EU Administrative Discretion: The Role of Law and Good Administration', which she will carry out in the coming three years. Her project was among the 35 applications which were honoured out of 280 subsmitted. In its report, the NWO was very positive about Joana Mendes' publication record and track record and praised her as a 'very active researcher'. Her proposal is considered to be 'highly relevant and original'.

The first ACELG researcher to receive this grant was Dr Christina Eckes.
