Dominique Barnhoorn is Ph.D. researcher at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG, UvA).
Her research interests are EU agencies in the law enforcement area and data protection. More precisely, her research focuses on the sharing of personal data between EU agencies and third countries by specifically appointed national officials (e.g. liaison officers). The research is supervised by Prof. Deirdre Curtin (European University Institute, Florence) and Prof. Christina Eckes (director ACELG, UvA).
Dominique Barnhoorn joined the University of Amsterdam in September 2015 as Research Assistant to Prof. Deirdre Curtin and worked inter alia on a note on data retention from both an EU and US legal perspective. In parallell, she completed a Master in Jurisprudence and Philoshophy of law at Leiden University (2016). Previously, Dominique obtained an LL.M. in European law from Leiden University (2015). Between January and April 2015, Dominique interned at the European law department of the Foreign Office of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
