Dominique Barnhoorn is Ph.D. researcher at the Amsterdam Centre for European Law and Governance (ACELG, UvA).
Her research focuses on EU external relations and secondment of (law enforcement) officials to the EU administration. The object of study is the secondment of Third country and EU Member state officials - for example Europol Liaison officers - to EU institutions and agencies and vice versa. The research is supervised by Prof. Deirdre Curtin (European University Institute, Florence) and Prof. Christina Eckes (director ACELG, UvA).
Dominique joined the University of Amsterdam in September 2015 as Research Assistant to Prof. Deirdre Curtin. As Research Assistant, she worked on a note concerning data retention in the EU and US legal framework. In parallel with her work at the UvA, she completed a Master Jurisprudence and Philoshophy of law at Leiden University (2016). In 2015, Dominique graduated in European law (Leiden University). From January to April 2015, Dominique interned at the European law department of the Foreign Office of the Kingdom of The Netherlands.
